About Us
My Story
My name is Ekin Aygen. I am 17 years old and attend William Amos Hough High School in North Carolina.
I have always been a big dreamer, maybe so big that sometimes I get ahead of myself. But that's just who I am.
A determined leader, organizer, and advocator for those in need. Those are the words that I like to use to describe myself when discussing Heart-2-Heart. In the ninth grade, I had a vision: to start a school club dedicated to helping children in need. This school club failed to put my ideas in action, but helped guide me to start this nonprofit organization. With the help of my mom and dad, I successfully established Heart -2- Heart Charity Inc. in 2018.
Heart -2- Heart Charity has allowed me to fulfill my hopes of helping North Carolinians who most need assistance - those who are disenfranchised, marginalized, and often afterthoughts.
With a support from friends, classmates, and parents, Heart -2- Heart has been able to serve local communities and partner with other organizations that have inspiring missions.
I am proud to say that Heart -2- Heart is a nonprofit that represents and reflects our entire community.
I dream that one day I will inspire those like me, or younger than me, to use their voices and their labor to make a difference. A difference, no matter how big or small, that will positively impact the lives of all people.
I continue to watch Heart -2- Heart flourish into something bigger than I ever dreamed. Seeing smiles plastered on the bright faces of young children, elders, and those who are unhoused warms my heart. Those smiles make me feel accomplished and proud at what we have been able to build from the ground up.

Heart -2- Heart Charity Inc. is all about fundraising. With the help of our volunteers, we complete various fundraising projects to help raise money for children in need. With your help, however, we can do more.
WE can make a difference
Think about this, if one person donating a few dollars can do so much, imagine how much good we could do if everyone were to contribute something! Strength in numbers is something this nonprofit lives by. No matter your age, you can join our team to give local children a better future. It takes creativity, motivation, and inspiration to believe in change. With our strategic, diverse volunteers, that's something this nonprofit has a lot of. By joining our team or simply donating, you are igniting change within our community!
